Core hardware parameters
Supports the Genius bus protocol and serves as the Genius network master, with the backplane plugged into a 90-70 CPU rack. A single BEM711 can drive up to 31 Genius remote I/O slave devices. Bus medium: twisted pair shielded Genius bus cable; The maximum total length of the bus is 2300 meters (depending on the speed). Communication speed options: 153.6 kbit/s, 76.8 kbit/s, 38.4 kbit/s. The backplane is powered by 5VDC, with a power consumption of approximately 11.5 watts. The panel LEDs: RUN, OK, BUS, and FAILT respectively indicate module operation, self-test, bus status, and fault alarm. Supports redundant Genius bus cables (dual bus) to achieve bus link redundancy. The data exchange between local CPUs is completed through the PLC backplane, and the module does not occupy the CPU’s serial port. I/O data capacity: maximum input of 4096 bits, maximum output of 4096 bits. Configuration method: Programming software and hardware configuration, configuring slave station address, rate, and redundancy mode. Working temperature: 0 ℃~+60 ℃.
Key Engineering Application Points
IC697BEM711 is a Genius master controller and cannot function as a slave; Genius slave modules such as IC660 series remote I/O.
Support dual bus redundant wiring, where one bus breaks and the other continues to work, improving on-site reliability.
Each slave station on the bus must set a unique hardware address 1-31.
The module itself does not have I/O terminals, and all on-site signals are connected to external Genius remote I/O stations.
One rack can simultaneously insert multiple BEM711s, expanding multiple independent Genius bus networks.
Fault diagnosis can identify bus short circuits, disconnections, and slave station disconnections, and upload fault information to the CPU.
