core functionality
Compact I/O expansion
5 IO slots, suitable for scenarios with limited control cabinet space; Only supports regular digital and analog IO modules; Advanced intelligent modules such as PCM, CMM311, BEM330, etc. cannot be placed on this motherboard and can only be placed on the CPU mainframe.
Local parallel bus communication
Connect the CPU main board (IC693CHS397/CHS391) through a dedicated expansion cable, and the backplane bus forwards IO data. All IO is processed by the CPU uniformly.
Multi rack numbering management
On board DIP dialing sets the rack number, and the CPU recognizes different expansion racks.
The limit on the number of racks is consistent with CHS392:
CPU331/340/341: Up to 4 expansion boards (CHS392/CHS398 mixed also counted as total)
CPU350 and above (363/364/374): up to 7 expansion boards
