The GE Hydran 201Ti is a compact online Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) monitor designed for continuous transformer condition monitoring. It provides early warning of developing transformer faults by measuring dissolved gases in insulating oil, helping utilities and industrial operators reduce unexpected outages and maintenance costs.
Main Functions
Continuous DGA Monitoring
The monitor continuously measures the concentration of key fault gases dissolved in transformer oil. It mainly detects:
Hydrogen (H₂) — indication of general transformer faults
Carbon Monoxide (CO) — overheating of paper insulation
Acetylene (C₂H₂) — arcing faults
Ethylene (C₂H₄) — overheating of oil
Its composite-gas sensor uses fuel-cell technology and provides the well-known “Hydran gas value,” recognized under IEEE C57.104 standards for transformer diagnostics.
