1、 Product Overview
IC670PBI001 is a FieldControl series Profibus DP bus interface unit BIU. External 24VDC power supply, local backplane drives up to 8 FieldControl I/O modules; As a Profibus DP slave station, it interacts with the DP master PLC for process data exchange; Support local debugging configuration of handheld programmer HHP, with complete diagnostic and communication fault output hold/reset functions.
2、 Communication specifications
Bus protocol: Profibus DP V0/V1 (slave), providing GSD files for master configuration, GSD version V3.1
Communication speed: 9.6k, 19.2k, 93.75k, 187.5k, 500k, 1.5M, 3M, 6M, 12Mbps, speed automatic recognition or DIP switch setting
Profibus interface: 9-pin D-Sub female port, standard DP bus interface, supports bus terminal resistance
Debugging interface: 9-pin D-Sub, used to connect the handheld programmer HHP, read module status on site, and modify parameters
Station address: Board mounted DIP dip switch set DP slave station address (1-125)
I/O capacity: The local backplane can mount up to 8 FieldControl I/O modules; The maximum input and output of process data is 244 bytes for input and 244 bytes for output
Fault strategy: When the DP bus is disconnected, the local I/O output can be configured to maintain the last state or reset the output to zero
Diagnostic support: Supports standard Profibus DP diagnostic messages, which can report module missing, module failure, and channel failure information to the DP master station

External power supply: 24VDC, working range 18-30VDC, reverse protection, external DC terminal power supply, not relying on backplane power supply
BIU body power consumption: about 4.5W; maximum output current to local I/O backplane is 1.4A
⚠️ Important: The total current of all mounted MDL input/output modules must not exceed 1.4A, as exceeding this limit may result in insufficient power supply to the backplane and module abnormalities.
Isolation: Electrical isolation between Profibus bus and local I/O logic side
Wiring: Removable spring terminal for 24VDC power supply connection

PWR: Power indicator light; On=24V power supply is normal
RUN: Running status light; Normal operation, always on
Fault: malfunction light; Flashing represents communication failure, I/O module error, configuration mismatch
DP-ACT: Profibus bus activity indicator, bus data transmission and reception flashing
