Channel and contact configuration
The module has a total of 8 relay isolation output channels, each channel is independently electrically isolated, and the contacts are divided into two specifications to adapt to different control logic requirements:
6-way Form-A (A-type contact): Only normally open NO, connected when powered on, disconnected when powered off, used for ordinary switch control;
2-channel Form-C (C-type conversion contact): common terminal COM+normally open NO+normally closed NC. The same channel can achieve two-way interlocking logic, which can be used for both normally open and normally closed outputs, suitable for interlocking and state switching circuits.
Important reminder: The relay contacts do not output power, and the load working power must be supplied through external wiring. The module is only responsible for the circuit on/off switch action and does not provide AC/DC power supply itself.
Electrical load specifications (resistive load reference)
Single channel rated current: 2A
AC operating conditions: 5-265VAC, 47-63Hz, maximum 2A;
DC operating conditions: 5-30VDC, maximum 2A; derating to 0.2A at 31-125VDC;
The overall maximum load of the module is 16A (the total current of all channels cannot exceed 16A);
Surge tolerance: Single channel allows 5A, continuous 20ms surge current, suitable for electromagnetic valve coil power on surge;
Minimum load current: ≥ 10mA per channel; contact instability may occur if the load current is too small;
Working voltage range: DC 0-130VDC; Communication 0-265VAC;
Built in RC absorption buffer circuit (Snuber R=47.5 Ω, C=0.022μF）， Used to suppress the reverse electromotive force when the inductive coil is disconnected, there is no built-in fuse inside the module, and the external circuit needs to add fuse protection by itself.
Relay body: Fixed coil moving armature relay, contact material silver alloy;
Mechanical lifespan: 20 million cycles (no load mechanical action);
Electrical lifespan: 100000 cycles (under rated resistive load conditions); When subjected to inductive loads, the lifespan of the switch will be significantly shortened;
Response time: The typical time for suction and disconnection is about 10ms. For inductive load conditions, it is recommended to control the switching frequency within a maximum of 20 times per minute, which is not suitable for high-frequency pulse output scenarios.
Bus side power consumption: taking power from the BIU bus interface unit, the maximum current consumption of the module 313mA@5Vdc When selecting BIU modules, it is necessary to calculate the total current of all mounted I/O modules to avoid insufficient bus power supply.
Isolation safety parameters
On site user side ↔ Internal logic side; On site user side ↔ Rack ground: 250VAC continuous isolation, withstand voltage test 1500VAC, 1 minute;
There is no isolation between internal channels within the same group, but there is isolation between different groups; Meet the safety insulation requirements of industrial control cabinets, and can isolate AC220V strong current circuits from PLC weak current logic.
Indicator lights and diagnostics
PWR power LED: indicates whether the Genius bus backplane power supply is normal;
8 independent channel LEDs: each output corresponds to a status light, reflecting the output instruction status on the logic side; The LED is on, indicating that the PLC has issued an output ON command. This does not mean that the external load will always be powered on. If the external load is disconnected or damaged, the LED will still light up;
The module has a Genius bus standard fault reporting bit, which can provide diagnostic information to the PLC register through BIU feedback. It can monitor the communication status and in place status of the module, but cannot detect external load disconnection. If the load disconnection requires the user to add an additional external detection circuit.
Communication and system compatibility
Bus: Genius Bus, must be used with IC670GBI series BIU bus interface unit;
The logic power supply of the backplane comes entirely from the BIU, and the module itself is not connected to a 24V working power supply;
Output data bits: 8-point discrete output, mapped to Genius bus I/O data table;
Compatible with PLCs such as GE 90-30 and 90-70 that support Genius bus.
