Module foundation: IC698PSD300 is a dedicated DC input power supply for slot 0 of RX7i rack, with an input of 18-30VDC and an output of 300W, 5VDC@50A The+ 12VDC@10A , – 12VDC@4A Equipped with overcurrent, overvoltage, and overheating protection, forced air cooling, suitable for high-power RX7i rack, supporting redundant power supply architecture, used in critical industrial control scenarios.
Case 1: FSSS Furnace Safety Monitoring System for Thermal Power Plant Boilers
Project Background
The FSSS safety monitoring system for a 300MW thermal power generation unit boiler is affected by fluctuations in plant power and start stop shocks in the original AC power supply scheme, resulting in occasional power disturbances that cause instantaneous I/O abnormalities. The control system is required to be disturbance resistant, operate continuously for 7 × 24 hours, and not allow accidental power outages. The control rack is equipped with RX7i CPU, multiple digital/analog modules, SOE event recording module, and Ethernet communication module. The overall power consumption is high, and IC698PSD300 dual power redundancy configuration is selected.
hardware architecture
Two independent 24VDC industrial DC power feeds are connected to two IC698PSD300 units respectively, and redundantly connected in parallel to supply power to the RX7i backplane;
Rack: RX7i host rack Slot0 main power IC698PSD300, with the second one serving as a redundant backup;
Load: CPU, 12 I/O modules, SOE cards, IC698CRE030 Ethernet communication module;
The external 24VDC comes from the power plant’s dedicated DC screen, isolated from the plant’s AC system.

DC input avoids AC surges in factory power supply, seamlessly switches in case of power failure, and does not interrupt FSSS logic in case of single power failure;
The power supply comes with over temperature and over-current protection, LED status indicator lights, and can be connected to PLC fault points for power alarm and transmission to DCS;
Meet the high reliability requirements of boiler safety systems and eliminate the risk of misoperation caused by power disturbances;
Maintenance: Supports non-stop replacement of power modules, and can complete the replacement of power spare parts during the operation of the unit.
