IS200VAICH1DAB (VAIC board) is a VME form-factor analog input and output board manufactured by GE for the Speedtronic Mark VI turbine control rack. This high-density analog I/O board collects analog sensor signals from field transmitters, performs signal conditioning and A/D conversion, while generating analog control outputs for valve actuation and process regulation.
The VAIC board supports up to 20 analog input channels and 4 analog output channels. It works in conjunction with terminal boards such as TBAIH1C or STAI for field wiring termination. The card can run under both Simplex single system and TMR triple modular redundant architecture, which is widely adopted in critical power plant turbine protection loops.
Integrated analog multiplexer, high-resolution A/D and D/A converters deliver precise signal conversion. It includes built-in self-diagnosis and fault latching, plus suicide relay protection; the relay will cut off analog outputs automatically when critical faults are detected, preventing unsafe turbine operation. It communicates with the Mark VI main processor via VME backplane bus for real-time closed-loop turbine control.
