Core functionality
I/O module carrier and wiring interface
Two Field Control I/O modules are directly plugged into the base, and external field cables are connected to box type terminals; Replacing the I/O module does not require dismantling the on-site wiring.
Genius distributed I/O backplane bus
The base is equipped with a Genius bus and a BIU bus interface unit, forming a remote I/O substation; Multiple bases can cascade to expand the I/O points of the site.
I/O module hot plug support
BIU firmware version V2.1 and above, supports live plugging and unplugging of I/O modules (the base body cannot be hot plugged), and the device does not stop to replace modules, reducing downtime maintenance time.
Module power distribution
External 24VDC is connected to the A/B power terminals of the base to provide working power for 2 I/O modules.
Same series spring terminal version: IC670CHS102, screw free spring crimping, suitable for high vibration sites.

Case 1: OEM complete equipment (packaging, small machine tools)
Configuration: IC670CHS002 base+DI/DO module, Genius bus connected to PLC
Working condition: The equipment comes with a small control cabinet, limited space, and moderate interference level
Function: Collect equipment limit and solenoid valve signals nearby, reduce long cables, and save cabinet space with box type terminals.
Case 2: Factory assembly line remote I/O substation
Configuration: Multiple CHS002 base cascades, mixed digital and analog modules
Working condition: Collect feedback signals from proximity switches, optoelectronics, and frequency converters on-site on the production line
Function: Distributed I/O, signals are transmitted back to the central control PLC through Genius bus, reducing wiring costs.
Case 3: On site collection station for power plants and water treatment auxiliary equipment
Operating conditions: pump valve switch quantity, transmitter analog quantity acquisition; Mild environmental interference
Explanation: For situations with high electromagnetic interference, IC670CHS001 fence isolation base is more recommended in engineering.
