The 5X00273G01 is a digital output electronic module (EMOD) for Emerson Ovation DCS, originally Westinghouse design. It converts digital logic commands sent from the Ovation DPU controller into field switching signals to drive solenoid valves, relays, alarm horns, indicator lights and other field actuators. This digital output EMOD needs to work with matched personality module for signal conditioning, surge suppression and channel protection.

It provides multiple galvanically isolated digital output channels with 24VDC high-side switching output. Each channel features independent circuit protection against overcurrent, short-circuit and reverse voltage, safeguarding both the module backplane and field devices from transient voltage spikes common in power plant and petrochemical cabinets. Channel-level diagnostics detect load open-circuit and fault status, and send alarm information back to Ovation control software for operator viewing.

The module uses standard Ovation rack-mounted form factor and supports hot-swap operation. Maintenance technicians can replace the faulty module online without shutting down the I/O rack, minimizing plant downtime during spare part replacement, cabinet overhaul and system retrofit.
