The 5X00226G02 is an upgraded I/O Drop Link Interface Module for Emerson Ovation DCS (Westinghouse legacy). It serves as the deterministic high-speed communication gateway between Ovation DPU controllers and distributed remote I/O drop racks, transmitting real-time control commands and field analog/digital I/O data over Ovation proprietary serial link. Compared to 5X00226G01, this G02 revision features optimized firmware and hardware circuit upgrades for improved link stability, higher noise tolerance and better compatibility with newer Ovation DPU firmware versions.

It draws 24VDC power from the rack backplane with an operating voltage window of 21.6V ~ 26.4VDC. Dual-module redundant configuration is fully supported; upon primary communication link failure, seamless automatic failover takes place without interrupting process control loops, eliminating single-point communication failure for critical plant control systems. Galvanic isolation of ≥1kV between backplane and I/O drop link effectively suppresses ground loop currents and electromagnetic interference, well suited for high-noise cabinet environments in power and petrochemical plants.

The module adopts standard Ovation keyed rack slot design and supports hot-swap operation. Maintenance engineers can replace the faulty interface module online without powering down the I/O drop or controller rack, reducing production downtime during spare replacement, cabinet maintenance and system retrofit. Integrated self-diagnostic functions plus LED status indicators continuously monitor power health, link quality and fault alarms, enabling fast troubleshooting of communication dropouts or module defects.
