Mounting Torque Requirements
Thyristor modules, busbars and fuses must be installed with specified torque values using a torque screwdriver or torque wrench to ensure reliable contact and safe operation.
For C3 frame converters (900–2000 A DC), disc-type thyristors are normally installed with a dial gauge. For maintenance and repair purposes, torque wrench mounting is acceptable.
For A5, A6, A7 and C4 frame converters, the correct mounting force is indicated by a built-in indicator spring on the internal mounting clamp:
– A5: 900–2000 A DC
– A6: 1900–3000 A DC
– A7: 2050–5200 A DC
– C4: 2050–5150 A DC
Component Removal & Identification Rules
After removing suspected faulty components from the circuit, clearly mark them to avoid mixing with undamaged parts.
When disassembling damaged semiconductors, fully record the original installation status, including component orientation, mounting position, gate wiring layout, and gate connector positions for BCT units.
Replacement Compatibility Rules
Verify that the new component matches the original part number or is listed as a compatible replacement according to the official manufacturer substitution table. Cross-model compatible semiconductors are allowed only if officially approved.
Semiconductor Handling Standards
Thyristors and semiconductor components are high-precision devices with easily scratched and dented surfaces. Avoid unnecessary tool contact and object placement on components.
Follow strict handling guidelines:
1. Keep new semiconductors in original packaging until installation.
2. Wear protective gloves during handling.
3. Maintain clean working environment and clean hands during operation.
4. Ensure sufficient lighting for accurate installation and inspection.
