PMC PROFINET
Emerson PMC PROFINET is a PROFINET communication interface module for Ovation DCS system, used to connect Ovation controllers and I/O racks to external PROFINET IO field devices, remote I/O, variable frequency drives, smart sensors and packaged equipment. It acts as a PROFINET IO controller to realize high-speed real-time Ethernet data exchange between Ovation platform and third-party automation equipment, widely adopted in power plant, boiler, turbine, chemical and water treatment control projects.
This PMC PROFINET module supports PROFINET RT real-time communication, 100 Mbps Ethernet transmission rate, dual RJ45 ports with built-in industrial switch for daisy-chain network topology, simplifying cabinet wiring and network layout. It supports automatic device identification, cyclic process data exchange, alarm transmission and comprehensive device diagnostics. The module maps PROFINET device data points into Ovation control database, enabling operators to monitor, log and interlock all PROFINET slave devices directly from Ovation HMI and engineering workstation. It supports MRP media redundancy protocol for ring network architecture, improving network reliability for critical control loops.
It adopts standard Ovation rack mounting form and supports hot-swap operation. Operating temperature range is -20°C to +70°C, storage temperature -40°C to +85°C, IP20 protection class for indoor cabinet installation. It complies with PI PROFINET conformance class B, CE, UL and IEC industrial EMC standards, strong anti-interference performance for high-noise industrial control cabinets. Built-in LED indicators show power status, network link, data activity and communication fault for fast on-site troubleshooting.
