The 5X00226G03 is the latest revision I/O Drop Link Interface Module for Emerson Ovation DCS (legacy Westinghouse). It serves as the high-speed deterministic communication gateway between Ovation DPU controllers and remote I/O drop racks, responsible for transmitting real-time control commands and analog/digital field I/O data over Ovation proprietary serial link. Compared with 5X00226G01 and 5X00226G02 versions, G03 comes with upgraded hardware circuit, latest firmware, enhanced block transfer and extended register protocol support, delivering improved long-term reliability and wider compatibility across newer Ovation DPU firmware releases and remote I/O racks.

It receives 24VDC power supply from rack backplane with operating voltage range 21.6V ~ 26.4VDC. Dual-module redundant hot backup configuration is fully supported; in case primary communication path fails, bumpless automatic failover activates instantly without disrupting process control loops, eliminating single point of communication failure for critical plant control systems. Galvanic isolation of ≥1kV is implemented between backplane and I/O drop communication link, effectively suppressing ground loop currents and heavy electromagnetic interference inside power, petrochemical and refinery control cabinets.

The module adopts standard Ovation keyed rack slot construction and supports hot-swap function. Maintenance technicians can remove and replace faulty interface module online without powering down the I/O drop or controller rack, reducing production downtime during spare replacement, cabinet maintenance and system retrofit projects. Integrated comprehensive self-diagnostic functions plus LED status indicators continuously monitor power health, link quality and fault alarms, enabling fast troubleshooting of communication dropouts, link errors or module defects.

Typical applications include thermal power plants, combined cycle power stations, petrochemical complexes, refineries and water treatment plants.
