5X00106G02

The 5X00106G02 is the electronic module (EMOD) for Emerson Ovation DCS HART high-performance analog input subsystem. It is the upgraded variant compared with 5X00106G01, designed to acquire 4-20mA signals from HART smart transmitters and support bidirectional HART digital communication superimposed on analog current loops. It converts analog process measurements into high-resolution digital data and transmits to the Ovation DPU controller, supporting remote instrument configuration, loop diagnostics and device health status reading. This EMOD needs to work together with matching personality module 5X00109G02, which provides channel fuses and configurable jumpers for field-powered or local-powered transmitters.

It comes with 8 galvanically isolated input channels and adopts high precision A/D conversion. The input range covers 2.5mA to 25mA, with built-in under-range and over-range alarm detection. Two sampling modes are available: 20 samples per second for 60Hz power frequency noise suppression and 25 samples per second for 50Hz power frequency noise suppression. Channel-to-channel galvanic isolation reduces cross-talk and improves EMI immunity in power plant and petrochemical control cabinets. Each channel integrates independent optically isolated HART transceiver, maintaining stable HART digital communication without interfering with analog 4-20mA measurement.

The module uses standard Ovation rack-mounted architecture and supports hot-swap operation. Maintenance technicians can replace faulty modules online without shutting down the whole I/O rack, minimizing plant downtime during spare part replacement and system maintenance. Real-time module health monitoring and LED status indicators help engineers quickly locate module failure, field loop fault or HART communication abnormality.

Typical applications include thermal power plants, combined cycle power stations, petrochemical complexes, refineries and water treatment facilities. Widely used in Ovation DCS maintenance, spare replacement and system upgrade projects for pressure, flow, liquid level and temperature measurement collected from HART smart transmitters.
