VMIVME-4140 Analog Output Board Overview
The VMIVME-4140 Analog Output Board provides 32 high-quality analog output channels with 12-bit resolution. Each channel is driven by a dedicated Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) and is capable of sourcing or sinking up to 10 mA at output voltages up to ±10 V.
For maintenance and verification purposes, the analog outputs can be disconnected from field wiring, enabling offline testing. Calibration and self-test operations are initiated automatically upon a VMEbus system reset or manually via a software command.
During calibration, the board generates and stores a table of offset and gain coefficients in on-board RAM. Separate calibration coefficients are maintained for each of the 32 channels across each of the six supported output voltage ranges.
Self-Test and Status Indication

A comprehensive self-test routine runs automatically after system reset. The Self-Test Register reports pass/fail status and can identify the specific channel that has failed.
