The CPU board integrates the core processing and system management functions of the PM862 controller. It contains the microprocessor, RAM memory, a real-time clock, LED indicators, an INIT push button, and a CompactFlash interface for storage and system handling.

The TP830 baseplate provides multiple communication interfaces, including two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) for connection to the Control Network, and two RJ45 serial ports (COM3 and COM4).

COM3 is an RS-232C interface with modem control signals.

COM4 is an isolated serial port, designed specifically for connection to configuration or engineering tools.

To ensure high availability, the controller supports full CPU redundancy, including redundancy for the CEX-Bus, communication interfaces, and S800 I/O. This allows the system to maintain continuous operation even in the event of hardware failures.

Installation is streamlined using a simple DIN-rail slide-and-lock mechanism, enabling fast attachment and detachment. Every TP830 baseplate includes a unique Ethernet hardware address, providing clear hardware identity for each CPU. This address is printed on the Ethernet address label located on the baseplate.
