Channels and Isolation

Provides 8 fully differential, isolated input channels with channel-to-channel and channel-to-backplane isolation. Each channel can be independently configured for a specific RTD type or resistance range, allowing direct sensor connection without external transmitters.

Sensor Compatibility

Supports a wide range of RTD sensors, including Pt385, Pt391.6, Ni618, Ni672, Cu426, and Ni-Fe518. Compatible with 2-wire, 3-wire, and 4-wire connection methods, covering a broad temperature measurement range from –200 °C to +850 °C (sensor dependent).

Diagnostics and Alarms

Integrated diagnostic functions include detection of:

Wire break

Short circuit

Over-range conditions

Rate-of-change violations

High and low limit alarms

Fault status is indicated via front-panel LEDs and reported to the control system software, improving system reliability and maintainability.

Hot-Swap Capability and System Compatibility

Supports hot swapping without system shutdown. Requires RX3i CPU firmware version 5.5 or higher. Fully compatible with the RX3i universal backplane and PCI bus architecture, occupying a single slot.
