Bently Nevada 3500/60 163179-01｜Temperature Monitor｜
The Bently Nevada 3500/60 is a six-channel temperature monitoring module for the 3500 Machinery Protection System. Unlike the 3500/61, it does not provide recorder outputs. The module is designed for real-time temperature monitoring and over-limit protection of critical machine components such as bearings, motor windings, lubricating oil, and process fluids.
It is suitable for rotating equipment including steam turbines, compressors, motors, and auxiliary systems, and complies with API 670 requirements.

Six-Channel Flexible Input
The 3500/60 provides six independently configurable temperature input channels, supporting both RTD and thermocouple sensors. Different sensor types can be mixed within the same module to accommodate diverse measurement applications.
RTD support: Pt100, Pt1000, etc.
Thermocouple support: J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N
Measurement and Protection Capability
Temperature measurement range: –200 °C to +1000 °C (dependent on sensor type)
Measurement accuracy: ±0.1% of full scale
Supports multi-level temperature setpoints for alarm and shutdown functions
Includes sensor open-circuit and short-circuit detection, continuous self-diagnostics, and fault alarms to ensure reliable operation
Outputs and Communication
Provides dry-contact relay outputs for alarm and shutdown signals and 4–20 mA analog outputs. Supports Modbus and PROFIBUS communication protocols for integration with DCS and ESD systems.
The module has no local display; remote monitoring, configuration, and diagnostics are performed via the 3500/40 HMI or System 1 software.
Safety and Environmental Specifications
Designed to meet SIL 2 safety requirements. Operating temperature range is –40 °C to +70 °C, suitable for harsh industrial environments. The module supports hot swapping and installs directly into a standard 3500 rack card slot, simplifying maintenance.
Terminal and I/O Options
The 163179-01 is the base module and can be paired with different I/O terminal boards to meet wiring and noise-immunity requirements, including:
133819-01: Non-isolated internal terminal board
133843-01: Thermocouple isolated external terminal board
Additional terminal board options are available to support various field wiring configurations and anti-interference needs.
