Ethernet Switch Interface

The module is equipped with two 10/100Base-T RJ-45 Ethernet ports, located on the bottom of the unit

Provides communication with the GuardPLC controller via GuardPLC Ethernet

Functions as an integrated Ethernet switch, allowing:

Daisy-chain connections to additional distributed I/O modules

Auto-detection supported:

Both straight-through and crossover shielded Ethernet cables may be used

Network Topology

Supported topologies:

Star

Line (daisy-chain)

Ring topology is not supported

Ensure that no network loops are created:

Data packets must reach each node through only one communication path

MAC Address Identification

The module’s MAC (Media Access Control) address is printed on the label located above the two lower RJ-45 connectors

Grounding Requirements ⚠️

The module is grounded through the DIN rail to chassis ground

To ensure proper grounding:

Use zinc-plated, yellow-chromate steel DIN rail

Do not use DIN rails made from:

Aluminum

Plastic

Other materials prone to corrosion, oxidation, or poor conductivity

Improper DIN rail material may result in intermittent or unreliable grounding

24 V DC Voltage Supply

The power supply must provide galvanic isolation in accordance with:

EN 60950

UL 1950

Inputs and outputs are not electrically isolated from the internal processor

Compliance with CE Low Voltage Directive (LVD)

The module must be powered by one of the following:

NEC Class 2 power supply

SELV (Safety Extra-Low Voltage)

PELV (Protected Extra-Low Voltage)

Voltage Limits

SELV / PELV Supply Limits:

≤ 30 V rms

≤ 42.4 V peak

≤ 60 V DC

Limits apply under:

Normal operating conditions

Single-fault conditions

PELV supplies must be connected to protective earth
