Bently Nevada 3500/50M｜Tachometer Module｜
The Bently Nevada 3500/50M Tachometer Module is a two-channel monitoring module designed to accept inputs from proximity probes or magnetic pickup sensors. It measures critical rotational parameters including shaft rotational speed, rotor acceleration, and rotor direction.
The module continuously compares measured values against user-programmable alarm setpoints and generates alarms when configured limits are exceeded, supporting reliable machinery protection and condition monitoring.
Configuration and Monitoring Functions
The 3500/50M Tachometer Module is configured using 3500 Rack Configuration Software and supports the following operating modes:
Speed monitoring with setpoint alarming and speed band alarming
Speed monitoring with setpoint alarming and zero-speed detection
Speed monitoring with setpoint alarming and rotor acceleration alarming
Speed monitoring with setpoint alarming and reverse rotation detection
Keyphasor Signal Integration
The module can be configured to provide conditioned Keyphasor signals directly onto the 3500 system backplane for use by other monitoring modules. This capability eliminates the need for a separate Keyphasor module within the rack, reducing system complexity and slot usage.
Peak Hold Capability
The 3500/50M includes a peak hold function that records critical rotational extremes, including:
Maximum forward rotational speed
Maximum reverse rotational speed
Total number of reverse rotations
These stored values support diagnostics, event analysis, and post-incident evaluation.
