The Hydran M2 is a continuous, online monitoring system for dissolved gases and moisture in transformer oil, providing early warning of developing fault conditions. By delivering critical condition data in real time, it helps utilities and asset owners minimize the risk of unplanned transformer outages.

In addition to dissolved gas analysis (DGA) and moisture monitoring, the Hydran M2 supports the connection of optional external sensors, such as top and bottom oil temperature, transformer load, and ambient temperature. These additional inputs allow correlation with gas and moisture measurements, enabling deeper insight into transformer operating conditions and fault development.

The extensive data collected by the Hydran M2 can be transmitted directly using its wide range of communication options or processed locally using on-board calculations based on IEEE® standard transformer mathematical models. These embedded models convert raw measurements into meaningful condition indicators, supporting more advanced diagnostics and asset management decisions.

With the latest Mark III version, the Hydran M2 has been completely redesigned with new electronic boards and a modernized power supply. This update ensures RoHS compliance, resolves component obsolescence, and further enhances the reliability of this proven, long-standing monitoring solution.
