Purpose
To measure the insulation resistance of converter components and verify their ability to withstand voltage stress. All measurement results must be recorded in the Preventive Maintenance Report.
Important Requirements
Use a high-voltage insulation tester rated at 2500 VDC
(e.g., METRISO 5000)
Water conductivity must be < 0.5 µS/cm during the insulation measurements.
Procedure
1. System Shutdown
Shut down the PCS6000 following the procedure:
“PCS6000 Lockout/Tagout Procedure”, 3BHS600000 E22.
2. Visual Inspection
Verify that the LEM current transducer cables are positioned correctly and do not touch the medium-voltage busbars.
3. Short-Circuit Required Points
Short the following terminals/points prior to measurement:
AC Grid Side (per CL)
Phases U, V, W
AC Generator Side (per CL)
Phases U, V, W
DC-Link (per CL)
DC-link+, N- of each CL:
X801, X803, X805
DC-Link Between CL1 and CL2
X801
Filter Capacitors (per CL)
C461, C581–C587
Braking Resistor (per CL)
Points X801–X802, X804–X805
4. Disconnect the Following Components
Ground Connections
Ground NCM: C461.2
Ground VFM74: C587.1
Ground VFM73: C584.1
Pre-Charger PCM (per CL)
Remove fuses F421–F423
Ground the PCM
HVD Board
Disconnect –U706
Remove link to PECINTM (sub-D connector)
